QSI (Quality of Service Index) models were developed by the United States Government in 1957. QSI models were deployed during the regulation era to evaluate new routing assignments. Market share models continued to be developed / enhanced to analyze airline service(s) and route structure(s). QSI/Market Share models are used by many airline and travel organizations today. QSI "Fair Share" is an excellent metric to assist in network, hub, flight analyses and studies. "Fair Share" is based on objective metrics, not subjective metrics. Subjective metrics such as carrier presence, marketing initiatives and airline halos are not considered in "Fair Share" modeling. "Fair Share" represents O&D route quality analytics regardless of the operating carrier. QSI Analytics are an intellectual view of your network with competitive and benchmarking metrics. QSI market share is formulated by modeling airline O&D services (Nstops, CNXs, Code Shrs, etc) for every True O&D. Each service is scored based on its service quality metrics and competing dimensions. Service Scores are summed by carrier and true O&D. Market share ratios are calculated by Airline O&D Market score divided by Total O&D Market score. QSI market share data can be used to evaluate the quality of schedule(s), service(s), hub(s) and network(s). QSI analytics has a function in the PLANNING, REVENUE MANAGEMENT, PRICING AND SALES / MARKETING areas. The "Fair Market Share" is an objective metric. When properly understood / implemented ...
